Programs and Courses
Our certificate programs and courses offer great depth and diversity to those becoming massage therapy professionals – and provide excellent continuing education for Massage Therapists and other health professionals seeking to expand their skills. Programs and courses can be chosen to reflect each student’s interests. With over 2000 hours of coursework available, you can choose a path that is right for you to become a Certified Massage Therapist.
For those interested in pursuing Massage as a career, you may begin working toward the 500-Hour Massage Therapist level. Requirements for the 500-hour Program include Swedish 100 hours, Shiatsu/Acupressure Foundations 150 hours OR Deep Tissue Foundations 150 hours. Then, choose from one of many 125-hour courses and 112 hours from a wide array of Elective options including Hot Stone Massage, Reflexology, Prenatal Massage, Tui Na, and Lymphatic Drainage. Program requirements include 8 hours of Getting Noticed & Getting Hired, 64 Hours Anatomy & Physiology Human Structure and Movement (included in the Deep Tissue Foundations if you choose that track) participating in individualized exit meeting, and completing an instructor massage. All Program requirements need to be completed within 24 months of the start date of your first course.
If you desire the highest level of distinction and preparedness, continue your education by completing an additional 500 hours of coursework at McKinnon BTC. All coursework counts toward your 1000 hour total, as long as you include Touch, Health, and Common Conditions and 24 hours of business education. Additional Program requirements include 24 hours of meetings with a Senior Faculty Mentor and completion of all recommended clinic and practice sessions. There will be a final, hands-on assessment of your progress at the conclusion of the program. CAMTC does not recognize achievement at this level. A Program Certificate will be issued by McKinnon BTC to acknowledge your achievement.
All program requirements must be completed within 36 months of the start date of your first course.
